Principle of operation

The MoistScan MA-600CMA in-chute real time moisture meter is designed specifically for applications where there is a need to measure moisture of the material as it falls under gravity whilst passing through a chute or hopper.

The MA-600CMA sensors are custom-built to fit the chute or vessel size and shape.  Configured to create an electromagnetic field through which the material passes, in order to detect changes in the microwave properties of the magnetic field. The percentage moisture and amount of the material is calculated and continuously reported in real time.

The real time measurement provides early warning to potential moisture build-up in the lower part of the vessel, which could cause bulk handling difficulties. Alternatively, it may be used to determine material dry tons being fed from one process point to the next.

The control enclosure is mounted in close proximity of the sensors or it may be installed in the control or electrical switch room.

The user-friendly interface puts the power of easy set up and maintenance in the hands of the operator, designed with simple-to-use menus. The MA-600CMA also features built in data storage and communication capabilities of the enable technical support via remote access for diagnostic purposes and periodic calibration verification. In addition, sending and receiving plant data has never been easier with a host of industry standard protocols to choose from.
